Alzheimer's Association

About this Organization

The Louisiana Alzheimer's Association cares and supports those living with Alzheimer's and Dementia along with their family, friends, and caregivers. We provide support groups for friends, family, caregivers, and those living with Alzheimer's or Dementia. Support groups create a safe, confidential, supportive environment or community and an opportunity for participants to develop informal mutual support and social relationships. They also educate and inform participants about dementia and help participants develop methods and skills to solve problems. The groups encourage caregivers to maintain their own personal, physical and emotional health and optimally care for their loved ones with dementia. In addition, they may provide a needed break from caregiving responsibilities.
We also provide free, high-quality in-person and virtual education programs that provide learning opportunities focused on Alzheimer's disease, caregiving, communication, and more. For additional information on our programs and educational courses.
Along with care and support, The Alzheimer's Association continues to be the respected leader and largest non-profit funder in advancing international
