alignED New Orleans works at the intersection of education advocacy and community awareness to accelerate the impact of public education and improve the quality of learning for the children in our community.

Our mission is to build momentum for equity-centered policies that strengthen and support both families and schools. We collaborate with parents, families, and community partners to amplify their voices and align resources to advocate for a great education for every child.

Our Approach

At alignED, we equip parents and community members to become informed advocates and leaders in public education. Our work is rooted in the belief that those closest to students should have the power to shape the systems that serve them.

We engage families through a structured pathway that moves individuals from awareness to action:

• Engage: Through one-on-one P.E.P. Talks, we meet families where they are, listen, build trust, and connect them to the resources they need.
• Educate: Our P.E.P. Prep 101 program builds foundational knowledge of the New Orleans education system, equipping participants with the tools to navigate and advocate effectively.
• Empower: Through the P.U.S.H. leadership fellowship, participants develop the skills to organize, influence policy, and lead change in their communities.

Beyond this pipeline, we activate communities through civic engagement initiatives such as alignED in Action and align Your Vote, ensuring that parents and young people are prepared to participate in decision-making spaces, from school boards to the ballot box.

Together, these efforts create a growing network of informed, empowered leaders driving equitable outcomes for all students.
