$3,500 Goal

We’re planting native green corridors across New Orleans—one sidewalk at a time. Help us bring shade, flood resilience, and living ecosystems back to these spaces.

In many parts of the city, soil is compacted, overheated, and unable to absorb water. Native plants change that. They pull water into the ground, cool the air, and bring back local wildlife.

The Yaupon Project plants native trees and plants in overlooked spaces—like sidewalk strips and school grounds—turning them into living systems that support both the environment and the community.

Your donation goes directly toward:

  • Native plants and trees
  • Soil preparation and materials
  • Expanding plantings across New Orleans

We’ve already raised over $6,500 to support this work. GiveNOLA will help us expand it to our launch goal of 10k.

Help us bring these spaces back to life.

Mission

The Yaupon Project transforms overlooked urban spaces into living ecosystems. By planting native trees and plants—and engaging communities in the process—we help the land absorb water, cool the air, and bring back wildlife, restoring nature to everyday spaces.
