Whole Village Art Therapy
About this Organization
Whole Village Art Therapy has improved the lives of children, their families, and their communities through high-quality, culturally-sensitive art therapy services.
Art therapy is a mental health profession that uses artmaking as a form of communication to facilitate health and wellness. Our art therapists specialize in treating severe emotional and behavioral challenges, including issues of trauma and abuse.
Whole Village Art Therapy works to remove barriers to mental health services by bringing the art therapy directly to where it is needed, working with families and individuals in schools, mental health centers, domestic violence shelters, hospitals, and community organizations. We create programs that go beyond traditional therapy to meet the needs of our clients, including preventative services, community events, professional development, and other creative methods to connect effectively in the community. Children in our weekly programs consistently meet their therapeutic goals.
We have served 7 schools, partnered with 60 organizations, and made art with over 10,000 participants since our founding in 2016.
