Take Paws Rescue

Take Paws Rescue is a volunteer-driven, foster-based nonprofit saving the lives of dogs across New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana. Every animal we rescue is placed in a loving foster home, where they can heal, grow, and experience what it means to be part of a family while they wait for their forever home.

With a network of dedicated volunteers across Southeast Louisiana, we are able to step in when dogs have nowhere else to go — from owner surrenders to strays and shelter rescues.

The need is enormous — and growing.

As a foster and volunteer-based rescue, everything we do is powered by donations. From emergency medical care to daily food and supplies, your support allows us to say “yes” to dogs who might otherwise be turned away.

"I cannot say enough about how awesome this rescue was to me and my animals. A close fire passed away and left a mama dog and 11 puppies… yes 11. I reached out to them and in a matter of DAYS they were working behind the scenes to secure fosters and transport. Everyone involved in this loved these dogs BEFORE they ever met them. Robin assured me that it was gonna be ok, it may take a little while, but she and everyone involved were working on it. They all made it safely to the rescue and the mama dog Lucy, as well.
