Step Up Louisiana
About this Organization
Step Up Louisiana is building power with multiracial intergenerational Louisianans to fight for good jobs, good schools, and healthy communities. In the past few years, our members won $15/hour minimum wage for New Orleans city workers and city contract workers, passed a groundbreaking Workers' Bill of Rights, and organized parents who are fighting against public ed cuts, school closures, and school buses with no AC. Last fall we made a historic investment in organizer training through the Fall for Liberation and our Organizer in Training program has graduated over 65 organizers and turned out thousands of voters in low-turnout Black precincts. From marching with dollar store workers demanding safety and fair wages to advocating for community schools to fighting to stop carbon capture to securing real wins for families at the ballot box and in the streets, Step Up is creating change from the ground up. Every dollar you give supports grassroots leadership, organizing, and transformative campaigns led by directly impacted people. Join us in stepping up for justice-because Louisiana deserves better.
