Second Harvest Food Bank
About this Organization
Hunger is a challenge across South Louisiana-even in your neighborhood. One in six people and one in five children don't have enough food.
Food banks nationwide are facing major shortages, and it's hitting us hard. Last month, we learned 37 USDA truckloads of food we were counting on for spring and summer were cancelled by the USDA- that's over 600,000 pounds of food valued at $1.1 million.
This comes as more families seek help and as many as 80,000 children in the Greater New Orleans area lose access to school meals for the summer. Second Harvest is ramping up our Summer Feeding Program and working to keep food pantries stocked to serve our neighbors facing food insecurity. But we need your help.
Your GiveNOLA Day gift supports hunger relief this summer in Greater New Orleans and across South Louisiana, including:
• Meals and snacks for kids at camps, libraries, and youth programs
• Stocked shelves at hundreds of local food pantries
• Mobile Pantries delivering fresh food to underserved areas
• Affordable fresh produce through the Makin' Groceries Mobile Market
Every gift makes a real impact. Thank you for helping feed our neighbors.
