Nola to Angola

A nonprofit organization

NOLA to Angola is an annual bicycle ride fundraiser that financially supports the efforts of myriad organizations working to mitigate and reverse the impacts of the U.S. prison system. Biking each mile in solidarity with families who travel long distances to connect with their incarcerated loved ones, the ride educates people about the ways in which mass incarceration works in tandem with other systems of oppression, such as poverty and white supremacy, to harm members of our communities.

Testimonials

"I am thankful to the NOLA to Angola ride for connecting me to a community of people in New Orleans who are passionate about prison reform and abolition. The experience broadened my understanding of the subject in a way that reading material and media could not." - NOLA to Angola Rider

Mission

NOLA to Angola is an annual bicycle ride fundraiser that financially supports the efforts of myriad organizations working to mitigate and reverse the impacts of the United States prison industrial complex. Biking each mile in solidarity with families who travel long distances to connect with their incarcerated loved ones, the ride educates people about the ways in which mass incarceration works in tandem with other systems of oppression, such as poverty and white supremacy, to harm members of our communities. We do this through collective organizing, as well as leading training rides and educational events. We prioritize partnering with organizations led by formerly-incarcerated people and people of color, and work to support their leadership on prison justice issues.
