New Orleans Friends of Music

The mission of New Orleans Friends of Music is to present chamber music of the highest quality, at an affordable price, performed by internationally- and nationally-recognized musicians; to support and extend the full range of chamber music repertoire through performances and commissions; to support educational activities that encourage more adults and young people to appreciate the art form; and to showcase exceptional emerging chamber musicians of national or international quality.

For over 70 years, New Orleans Friends of Music has brought the best of chamber music to our community, always at affordable prices. Our concert seasons feature world-renowned artists and rising stars playing music from the Baroque to today.

Students always attend our concerts free of charge, and we bring our artists into the community through annual residency programs in schools and beyond. Through NOLA Chamber Fest, a partnership with Lyrica Baroque and University of New Orleans, visiting Friends of Music artists provide masterclasses to promising student ensembles.

A volunteer-based organization, Friends of Music is able to keep ticket prices low because the vast majority of our annual budget directly supports artist fees. Your contribution helps ensure that we can keep bringing great musicians to New Orleans for our concert season and our growing educational programs.
