Japanese Weekend School of New Orleans

The Japanese Weekend School of New Orleans provides children of Japanese nationals in the Greater New Orleans area with an education based on the Japanese academic curriculum, along with immersive exposure to the language, culture, and traditions of Japan. ニューオリンズ日本語補習校は、現地に在住する日本人の子どもたちに、日本の学習指導要領に基づいた教育とともに、日本語、文化、伝統に親しむ環境を提供することを目的としています。

For over 40 years, the Japanese Weekend School of New Orleans has provided a safe, nurturing environment for Pre-K3 through 9th grade students to receive quality education from native-speaking instructors using authentic methods. Classes are held on Saturdays on the main campus of Waldorf School of New Orleans located in Mid-City. Currently, our community includes 40 students, 11 teachers, and 27 families. We also offer opportunities for our alumni to return as teaching assistants or volunteers, fostering connections across generations.

Beyond academics, we actively engage in fundraising activities and cultural events. In partnership with the Japan Club of New Orleans, we participate in Japan Fest at NOMA and host family events that welcome people of all ages. Celebrating our heritage, we strive to build lasting friendships with the Greater New Orleans community.

ニューオリンズ日本語補習校は、現地日本人の子どもたちが毎週土曜日に国語・算数を受講する学校です。学業に加え学校行事開催や地域の日本文化イベントにも積極的に参加しています。
