Northshore Humane Society

Northshore Humane Society is a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue and community veterinary clinic located in Covington, LA. We are an independent, non-governmental charity that does not receive any tax funding; we rely solely on the support of caring people like you to fund our life-saving programs and services!! Since 1953, we have served the neglected and abandoned animals of the Northshore region and today we stand as one of the largest animal welfare organizations in the state of Louisiana.

Alongside our no-kill rescue and full-service vet clinic, we offer life-enrichment programs like summer camps, Canine Cabbies, and our Golden Paws Program all designed to promote animal wellbeing while making a meaningful impact in our community.

Our accomplishments in 2025 include:
- 1,322 dogs and cats directly assisted through our life-saving programs
- 12,132 animals cared for through our community veterinary clinic
- 2,282 spay/neuter surgeries performed to help lower homelessness in our community
- 41,141 service hours performed by our dedicated volunteers & foster families
