Veterans have earned their benefits through service and sacrifice, but navigating the VA claims process is anything but simple. Delays, wrongful denials, and systemic inequities stand between too many Veterans and the support they deserve, especially for Gulf War, post-9/11, and Native American Veterans.

Military-Veterans Advocacy, Inc.® (MVA) exists to change that. Through litigation, legislation, and education, this Slidell-based nonprofit fights nationally to protect and expand benefits for active duty service members, Veterans, and their families and dependents. MVA trains attorneys in the nuances of military and Veterans law, litigates in federal courts to protect Constitutional rights, and travels to Capitol Hill to push for bipartisan legislative reform—all driven by a volunteer Board of Directors deeply committed to the mission.

The stakes couldn't be higher. Without access to proper legal support, Veterans face disproportionate rates of homelessness, mental health crises, employment barriers, and family strain. Each year, nearly 6,400 Veterans die by suicide; of these, roughly two-thirds had not received VA healthcare services in the prior year.

MVA has a proven record of impact. Through their advocacy, benefits were secured for 90,000 Blue Water Navy Veterans and hundreds of thousands of Veterans stationed across the Pacific theater—a testament to what a dedicated, expert team can accomplish.

You don't have to be a Veteran to fight for Veterans' rights! MVA membership is open to everyone for just $40 a year—a direct investment in legal advocacy, legislative reform, and the thousands of Veterans who can't afford to wait. MVA is a rare thing: a nationally-scoped Veterans advocacy organization with roots right here in the New Orleans area, fighting for Veterans from the Gulf Coast to Capitol Hill. Organizations and businesses can make an even greater difference through sponsorship, with opportunities starting at $250. Your GiveNOLA Day gift puts skilled, passionate advocates in Veterans' corners, across Louisiana and across the country.
