About this Organization
Murphy Education and Sports Foundation came out of Jambalaya News Louisiana, a Hispanic bilingual newspaper that has been servicing the community for 14 years. Out of all the community service that has been done with this newspaper, it was decided to create a foundation in which children of the community could have the adequate resources they needed to continue working towards their dreams. Currently we serve children from ages 5 through 18 in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area.
We consists of two specific programs which are as follows:
Jambalaya Soccer Academy (JSA) is a local soccer academy that provides sporting education to children from ages 5-15. We are currently associated with the Louisiana Soccer Association which allows our students to visit other parts of the states to attend soccer tournaments. Our mission is to empower Latino children with social and physical skills through the practice of soccer. Our vision is to be a model soccer academy in the metro area impacting the lives of children positively by discovering their talents and helping them reach their maximum potential. Currently we service approximately 150 kids and are looking into finding new facilities for
