Crayton's Leadership And Scholarly Services (CLASS)
About this Organization
CLASS is a 501c3 nonprofit organization (EIN: 47-4654036) that provides free after-school homework assistance targeted toward economically underprivileged 1st - 12th grade students in Orleans Parish. CLASS was founded in 2015 by Mack Crayton Ph.D. CLASS meets the needs of students and parents who are challenged by the difficulty of homework assignments, the volume of homework assigned, and/or the lack of a computer, printer, and internet access in order to complete homework assignments.
CLASS provides basic school supplies, computers, printer, internet access and college educated volunteer tutors to assist students in the subjects of Math, Science, Reading, English, Social Studies and History. CLASS promotes leadership skills by enhancing students' non-cognitive skills such as: problem solving, conflict resolution, team camaraderie, and personal responsibility. Leadership activities include a combination of educational field trips to local children's attractions, social events, career counseling and life-skills training.
