$5,000 Goal

Concerned Citizens For A Better Algiers (CCFBA) was formed in 1986 as a 501 (c)(3) community-based organization with a mission to provide services to the low- and middle-income Algiers residents of all ages that enhance their self-sufficiency and empower them to become productive citizens.

The A.C.E. Center provides basic literacy and numeracy remediation, HiSET/G.E.D. preparation, technology/computer job skills training, work skills training such as resumé-building and interviewing, and work/life skills counseling to develop participants' job readiness abilities to help them achieve economic and family stability. In the past, the A.C.E. program served 50-65 unemployed youth per year ages 17-25 in Algiers with G.E.D. preparation and job skills training; and CCFBA's Literacy Program served 43 adults.
