American Cancer Society's Patrick F. Taylor Hope Lodge

About this Organization

Since opening its doors in July 2006, the Patrick F. Taylor Hope Lodge has been a lifeline for more than 17,000 cancer patients and caregivers, providing over 230,000 nights of free lodging and more than 21,000 rides to treatment. By removing the financial burden of lodging, Hope Lodge has delivered nearly $60 million in savings-allowing patients to focus on healing while surrounded by a compassionate, supportive community.

More than just a roof over their heads, it's a nurturing community that helps patients access the care they need. Each Hope Lodge community offers a supportive, homelike environment where guests can share a meal, join in the evening's activities, or unwind in their own private room. Patients staying at a Hope Lodge must be in active cancer treatment, and permanently reside more than 40 miles or one hour away from their cancer treatment center. Each patient must be accompanied by a caregiver.

Guests of the Hope Lodge enjoy rooms with a private bath and television. Other amenities include a shared kitchen, library, dining room, living room and laundry room. Guests are able and encouraged to make themselves very much at home.
