Action Youth and Community Resources provides a variety of programs in St. Tammany Parish. The Troupe is a group of junior and high school students who participate in ongoing leadership development workshops and activities and facilitate leadership training workshops for elementary students. They also participate in community service and coordinate social activities for their peers in a safe, substance free environment. During the summers, Action teens work tirelessly as interns (counselors) at Positive Action and Positive Attitude camps for students in grades 5-12. Camp activities are all leadership development based with workshops and activities that focus on positive life skills like effective communication, positive self-image, healthy social skills/relationships, as well as awareness of the dangers and affects of substance use and abuse. Members all pledge to live a healthy, substance free lifestyle and lead others by example.
