Backpack Blessings

To provide supplemental nourishment to children who are at risk due to a variety of circumstances. Our goal is to provide nutritional support for the "in between times" when other resources are not available like weekends or school vacations. We believe strongly that no child shall ever have to experience hunger or the negative effects that accompany it.

We are a ministry of Aldersgate United Methodist Church that rely solely on the funds of our parishioners and patrons to provide both food and packaging to give to over five local elementary and middle schools. Feeding weekly almost 100 students. We are running unliterary by volunteers and receive all funds through local fundraising.

School leaders are extremely grateful for our services, however, due to the confidentiality of the students, we do not publicly list any participants in the program. We have been acknowledged by local businesses and organizations, such as Rotary Club, Krewe of Dionysus & Legacy Car Dealership, Lions Club etc. thanking us for supporting our area school children.
