Youth development with UMT means preparing young adults to handle challenges through discipline, commitment, critical thinking, and teamwork. Now in its 18th year, UMT has:
? Staged over 90 performances of 28 productions
? Reached over 5,000 Greater New Orleans community members
? Served over 3,700 GNO youth
? Trained over 650 participants in the dramatic arts
? Engaged over 140 parent volunteers
? Employed over 200 professional artists

Alumni include:
Nala Hamilton (15), who recently completed a year on Broadway as Nala in Disney's The Lion King
Donald Jones (36), who is currently on Broadway in the cast of "Aladdin"
Lloyd Dillon, Jr. (34), who, at age 17, became one of the youngest people in history accepted to the Juilliard School of Drama, where he studied on a full scholarship

UMT offers:
? An annual summer program that takes youth participants through the full process of staging a theatrical production
? Participation in the nation's largest festival for youth musical theater--the iTheatrics Junior Theater Festival (JTF)--held annually in Atlanta
? Kidstown AfterSchool, an 7-week school-based musical theatre program
