$35,000 Goal

NOLA Repurpose, led by 1735 Construction Corporation, is dedicated to revitalizing New Orleans by transforming abandoned and adjudicated properties into community hubs, affordable housing, and commercial spaces. We aim to enhance neighborhood equity and create sustainable economic opportunities, making our city a vibrant place for all.

Founded in February 2020 by Ph.D. student Ariana A. Newman, 1735 Construction began with a mission to
revitalize Orleans Parish by transforming blighted properties. Inspired by research into Section 150-77 of the
New Orleans Municipal Code, 1735 launched the NOLA Repurpose program, initially focused on helping
Hurricane Katrina survivors acquire adjudicated properties. Despite setbacks, including office damage from
Hurricane Ida, the organization rebuilt with support from the St. Bernard Project and Ms. Newman's General
Contractor License. With recent operational support of $5,000, 1735 Construction is ready to continue its
mission to repurpose every blighted and adjudicated property, fostering affordable housing, community
spaces, and neighborhood revitalization across New Orleans.
