The LMN Certification Program is offered each Fall and Spring. This certification connects participants with a diverse knowledge base in Louisiana natural history by offering academic lectures and in-the-field workshops taught by experts in the disciplines of ecology, biology, geomorphology, and resource management. Participants learn about the nature of Louisiana's varied physiographic regions, its flora and fauna, and connections between our valued environment, culture, and economy.
Master Naturalists support other organizations by volunteering at events year round. Find our over 120 trained volunteers at Earth Day events, BUGFEST, the Lafitte Greenway's BioBlitz, Docville Farm's Cook-off for the Coast, Sankofa Wetland Park and Nature Preserve, City Park's Big Bass Fishing Rodeo, and the Pontchartrain Conservancy, to name a few. Members also assist our educators who lead local school field trips.

Watching school kids learn how storm water affects their schools and communities and helping them redesign their school yards to manage water has been a real pleasure. I've been amazed at their grasp of the concepts and their creative ideas on using green and gray infrastructure to make their playspaces more useable and environmentally friendly.
