High Resolves is a global education initiative. Our mission is to inoculate the next generation of leaders, and the adults who educate them, against divisive ideologies such as racism, bias, and bigotry. We believe that the increasingly complex challenges of our world require a generation of young people to have the intention, skills, vision, creativity, and confidence to accomplish what previous generations have failed to do: act in the long-term collective interest of humanity.
High Resolves partners with middle schools, high schools, summer camps, and youth organizations to equip students and educators with the mindsets and skills to be global citizens and leaders. Through immersive workshops and lesson plans on topics such as unconscious bias, unpacking racism, empathy, microaggressions, cultural lens, gender stereotypes, active listening, and more, we inspire individuals to act in the long-term collective interest of humanity. We facilitate teacher professional development on the same topics. Additionally, we provide platforms such as Videos for Change and Social Action Projects to guide students to create positive change in their communities.
In the Greater New Orleans area, our current partners include Metairie Park Country Day School, Bricolage Academy, Live Oak Wilderness Camp, NOLA Micro Schools, and the Orleans Parish School Board Superintendent's Student Advisory Council. During the 2018-2019 school year, we have worked directly with over 130 educators and 300 middle and high school students. We plan to expand our local impact through new partnerships during the 2019-2020 school year.
