More than 400 young people ages 7-19 from the Greater New Orleans Area; including the Northshore, Houma, Ponchatoula and Cut Off currently participate in GNOYO's programs. GNOYO is committed to making its programs accessible to all area youth, regardless of their families' financial capabilities. Donations help support programs such as: financial assistance to five orchestras, music lessons, endangered instruments program, teaching faculty and conductors' fees, a summer music festival and so much more. These programs teach students from 61 area schools to become better musicians, better students and better citizens.
Two years ago GNOYO celebrated its 20th Anniversary Season with a five city East Coast Tour performing in some of the country's most famous concert halls in Charleston, Williamsburg, Washington DC, Philadelphia and ending with a performance in Carnegie Hall, New York City, to multiple standing ovations. GNOYO student musicians were excellent ambassadors representing the Greater New Orleans Region on a world class stage.GNOYO asks for your support so that we many continue to provide the programs so vital to our community and so essential to producing future generations of musicians.
"Our goal is to provide every willing young person in the area access to a quality and comprehensive orchestral program that is exciting, engaging, stimulating, challenging and rewarding." Dr. Jean Montes, Music Director
