The Greenway is my lifeline. When I moved to New Orleans almost 6 years ago, I discovered the Greenway immediately. I found it with great relief, like, literally, a huge sigh of relief, as the closeness of New Orleans was a challenge for a country grown human and her dog. The Greenway offered respite from the crowdedness, a curative dose of nature for the mind, heart and soul. I begin almost every day on the Greenway and am treated to birdsong, lovely scenery, the smell of coffee and bagels, and something else that I've grown to treasure: the daily pattern of community. Each morning we pass other runners, take care to move aside for those biking to work, touch noses with other dogs, and share beginning of the day greetings with others who use and appreciate the Greenway as we do. The Greenway allows for and encourages community. That is something worthy of support. Every bit counts, so please give if you can.
