Dancing Grounds has been a powerful force for community and creativity in New Orleans since 2012. What started in a living room has grown into a thriving dance space where people of all ages come together to move, learn, and express themselves. We offer youth programs, adult classes, summer camps, and the annual Dance for Social Change Festival—all centered around equity, expression, and joy. From Hip Hop to Modern and African-diasporic forms, our work blends movement with leadership development and social-emotional learning. At the heart of it all are our values: racial justice, integrity, abundance, and collaboration. We believe everyone deserves access to the transformative power of dance. Since 2012, DG has become a driving force for arts and education in New Orleans and a hub for the local dance community, serving over 3,500 youth, 5,500 adults, and countless audience members.
