As someone born & raised in New Orleans, I’ve always felt a deep connection to this city, but as a young professional, I was looking for a meaningful way to turn that love into action. That’s what led me to the Young Leadership Council (YLC). For the past three years, I’ve served on the board because I believe in YLC’s mission to empower young people to take ownership of their community & shape its future. Through projects like Wednesdays at the Square and our collaboration with the City of New Orleans to increase transparency around local boards and commissions, YLC is creating real pathways for civic engagement. We’re not just planning events—we’re building a pipeline for leadership, connection, and long-term investment in New Orleans. Being part of YLC has introduced me to a community of like-minded residents who are passionate, driven, and deeply committed to this city. Together, we’re working to make sure that New Orleans doesn’t just attract great young talent, but keeps it.
