I've learned over the years that you can find theatre just about anywhere - but high caliber, professionally compensated work is RARE, and LPT raises the bar when it comes to professional theatre in New Orleans. They employ hundreds of local artists, workers, and artisans each year, and generates over $1MM for our economy. Programs like our YOUNG CONSERVATORY & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT classes imbue students with hands-on, practical skills and self-confidence that directly translate to a variety of career paths. (Reading comprehension, carpentry, sewing, collaboration, memorization, public speaking, & more.) Our FREE STUDENT MATINEE SERIES provides access (tickets and transportation) for over 2,000 students annually, to see each show in our mainstage season. Our newest program, the TEEN THEATRE COUNCIL allows interested high school students the chance to learn about the professional producing process from industry pros.
