I helped start College Beyond 10 years ago because I saw firsthand how many talented New Orleans students were navigating college without the support they needed to succeed. As a first-generation college graduate myself, I know the challenges of navigating higher education alone — and the power of having someone in your corner. Since those early days, College Beyond has supported hundreds of students in getting to and through college with coaching, care, and community. Today, I serve on the board because I still believe deeply in the mission — and in the brilliance of the students we serve. They are our city’s future leaders, and they deserve every chance to thrive. This Give NOLA Day, I’m matching the first $500 in gifts to help us reach even more students.
