I am thrilled to serve as a Board member of the New Orleans Pride Center. We have just celebrated the Pride Center's one-year anniversary. During this first year, we've served over 2,200 community members, launched free weekly youth support groups, created sober spaces for connection, trained service providers to be more inclusive, and provided a home for 20+ LGBTQ+ organizations and projects. Every day, we see how access to community changes lives. When LGBTQ+ people have safe spaces to gather, share stories, access resources, and celebrate each other, it builds the resilience needed to survive even the hardest times.
