Fundraiser Story
One Book One New Orleans selects one book every year and encourages everyone in the city to read the same book at the same time, with the goal of creating a stronger sense of community through a shared reading experience. Through a network of partners, we ensure that members of our community who would typically be excluded from a community of readers are able to participate in our programs.
Through our partnerships with numerous adult education programs, Louisiana Books 2 Prisoners, and Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office, we provide copies of our selected book and an accompanying curriculum to adult education programs throughout the Greater New Orleans area and incarcerated people throughout Louisiana.
GiveNOLA Day gifts will be used to purchase and distribute copies of our 2025 selection, "Daughters of the New Year," to adult education programs, incarcerated adults, and incarcerated teens, and to host free public programming inspired by the book.
