I have worked with Louisiana Green Corps for over 4+ years providing free, paid green jobs training, work-readiness, supportive services, and job placement assistance to New Orleanians 18-35 looking to redefine themselves, start a new career, and contribute to crucial conservation efforts in our city. During my time at Green Corps I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of motivated youth and adults striving build a new future, provide for themselves and their families, and be part of an environmental movement to create a stronger, more equitable, and environmentally resilient New Orleans. GiveNOLA funds will be used to directly address the immediate needs of our participants and alumni to provide them with the stability they need to be successful in training, and support as they take that leap into their new green career: including funding for transportation, childcare, tools, PPE, utlilty assistance, housing, basic needs, and emergencies.

Louisiana Green Corps provides environmental education and career building opportunities for people aspiring to improve their lives and our community. Since 2008, Louisiana Green Corps (LAGC) has directly intervened in South Louisiana's construction and conservation economies by offering paid, on-the-job training to ensure that New Orleanians have opportunities in these lucrative, growing industries. LAGC has worked with 1500+ disadvantaged job seekers to provide them with the training and certification needed to secure and maintain quality employment.
