Fundraiser Story

When I joined the board of Louvis Services, I knew I wanted to make an impact - but I never imagined how deeply this mission would touch my family's heart. Thanks to the incredible generosity of friends, family, and neighbors like you, we raised so much support that our very first tiny home was named in honor of my late husband, the Summers Porter House.

It stands today in the Lower 9th Ward as a symbol of hope, resilience, and the power of community. Every person who walks through its door is reminded that they are seen, valued, and worthy of a safe, dignified home.

This GiveNOLA Day, I'm asking you to help me do it again. Every dollar we raise will go toward building our third  tiny home - a space where someone experiencing homelessness can find peace, safety, and a fresh start.

Your support means more than I can ever express. Let's build something beautiful together.

About the Organization

For a decade, Louvis Services has been working to end homelessness in New Orleans, focusing on empowerment and hope. We create safe, sustainable, and supportive environments by constructing tiny homes integrated with essential services and our unique edible landscape program. Our innovative approach is built on collaboration with partners like the city, state, and Tulane's URBANbuild program. Your contribution directly fuels construction, thanks to an all-volunteer effort with minimal overhead. As we celebrate 10 years, we're dedicated to expanding our capacity to build more homes for years into the future.
