Innocence Project New Orleans

Fundraiser Story

For the last two and a half years, I've had the pleasure of working at Innocence Project New Orleans, an organization that was started in 2001 to get wrongly convicted folks out of prison. Since then, IPNO has expanded its work to work for the freedom of people sentenced to life/near life for nonviolent crimes, freed over 75 people, established a client services department to support our clients in their reentry and long-term freedom, and more. Part of my work at IPNO is providing wraparound services for our clients coming home, be it applying for benefits, teaching them how to use their IPNO-provided cell phone, or paying for their first month's rent in their new apartment. With donations like yours, we can continue to serve our clients who are still incarcerated, and provide much-needed support for our people on the outside. Please consider donating to my page and supporting IPNO.

About the Organization

Innocence Project New Orleans (IPNO) frees innocent people sentenced to life in prison and those serving unjust sentences. We recognize the root causes of wrongful convictions and unjust sentences as systemic racism and inequities. We work to expose and address these root causes by sharing our clients' stories in court, the legislature, the community and the media. We support our clients living well and fully in the world after their release.
