I've had the lucky opportunity to lead the founding of Generation Hope's Scholar program in New Orleans, starting in spring 2023! Since then I've seen our Scholars grow and our program grow, and I'm thrilled we will be accepting over 15 new Scholars in the 2025 school year. We are raising funds to help build up our scholarship pool - this enables us to bring on caring mentors who have the time to share with a Scholar but not necessarily the treasure to pay for their scholarship. We support our Scholars - teen parents attending college and working toward their degrees - with scholarships, mentorship, case management and mental health supports, career and life skills trainings & plenty of social outlets for them and their children. As the adoptive mother of a child born to a teen mother, I am clear on the impact access to the right supports - both systems level and relationships level - can have on keeping families stable and together.
