This year there are more causes and organizations to support than ever. One that I've become more involved with is Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast - please join me in supporting their work this GiveNOLA Day! The PPGC team said it better than I can: With the strength of our supporters, our community, and you, Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast (PPGC) continues to provide expert, compassionate, and patient-centered health care to thousands.  More than just health care, these services are lifelines. They are acts of resistance. They are a promise: Planned Parenthood is still here, and we’re not going anywhere.  But this work is only possible because of you. When politicians talk about “defunding” Planned Parenthood, they really mean blocking patients from the care they need. These mounting political attacks have turned philanthropy into an urgent and essential pillar of our existence.

Planned Parenthood's mission is to ensure the right and ability of all individuals to manage their sexual and reproductive health by providing health services, education, and advocacy. We seek a world in which all children are wanted and cared for, all individuals have equal rights and dignity, sexuality is expressed with honesty, equality, and responsibility, and the decision to bear children is private and voluntary.
