During graduate school, I became aware of LA Green Corps when I took a part-time job with them as an academic instructor. I was so impressed with the quality of training made available to participants in the program, many of whom had already experienced extreme adversity in their young lives. Good training for good jobs that take care of the environment and our community? Yes please! A few years ago, I joined the board, where I have been privy to seeing the organization grow in budget and scope. Now, not only young people but older adults also participate in the program and we are getting ready to offer our first 'next level' programming in fall. With the current administration de-prioritizing all things environment and DEI- this is an especially crucial time to donate. Thank you for your support!

Since 2008, Louisiana Green Corps (LAGC) has directly intervened in South Louisiana's construction and conservation economies by offering paid, on-the-job training to ensure that New Orleanians have opportunities in these lucrative, growing industries. LAGC has worked with 1500+ disadvantaged job seekers to provide them with the training and certification needed to secure and maintain quality employment.
