Fundraiser Story
Avodah Corps Members work hard every day to provide vital resources and tackle symptoms of systemic oppression in our GNO community and across Louisiana.
I am fundraising to support the cost of one day of experiential learning, or a "program day", for next year's cohort. During a program day, which Corps Members attend 2-3 times a month during their service year, they participate in programing around communication, positionality, mental health, Jewish text and movement history for the purpose of developing as leaders of change in their communities. Corps Members may visit a museum, do volunteer service, or learn directly from seasoned leaders in a variety of justice issue areas.
Hands-on development of young Jewish justice leaders has tangible results! 98% of Avodah alumni are still participating in some form justice work. Our local alumni work at vital community organizations like Promise of Justice Initiative, Orleans Public Defenders, SLLS, Jacobs Camp, and more!

About the Organization
We're a growing network of Jewish leaders fighting domestic poverty. Our participants are on the ground in New Orleans and four other cities. Our alumni are everywhere.
Avodah's mission is to develop lifelong social justice leaders whose work is informed by Jewish values and who inspire the Jewish community to work toward a more just and equitable world.
