The Humane Society of Louisiana assists thousands of animals in need by taking a holistic approach in the number of programs and services we offer. We investigate cruelty to animals complaints, we lobby to expand and strengthen existing laws, we encourage administrators and lawmakers to build new shelters, and we manage three animal care facilities.

We empower individuals and communities to create a no-kill state, where the lives of all animals matter. We work tirelessly to save and defend abused, neglected and homeless animals. We also work with law enforcement, animal shelters, rescuers and other animal caregivers to make Louisiana a more compassionate place for everyone.
