I’ve worked at Disability Rights Louisiana for 13 years, alongside a team of attorneys and advocates who are fiercely dedicated to protecting the civil and human rights of people with disabilities. We do this work because believe that every person deserves access to independence, safety, and opportunities--and we know that the disability community has to fight for these things every day. For much of my career here, I’ve supported people with disabilities as they searched for jobs, worked toward financial independence, and rebuilt their lives in the community after incarceration. Each client I worked with showed tenacity and resilience in the face of so many unnecessary obstacles, and reinforced my belief in the importance of our work. Today, I lead our fundraising efforts to make sure my coworkers can continue helping thousands of people each year access healthcare, safety from abuse, jobs, education, voting opportunities, decision-making power, and more.

Disability Rights Louisiana (DRLA) protects and advocates for the human and legal rights of all children, adults and seniors with disabilities. Our work aims to empower the disability community to live an integrated life, free from abuse, neglect and exploitation.
