As a New Orleans-based environmental justice scholar-practitioner-activist, I have admired the community-based work of the Louisiana Bucket Brigade for many years. The mission of LBB is more important than ever in 2025. I recently had the opportunity to join the LBB board and am excited to help LBB continue to fund this important work on this GiveNOLA day, May 6th, 2025.

The Louisiana Bucket Brigade uses grassroots action to create an informed, healthy society that hastens the transition from fossil fuels. Our vision is to create a Louisiana that is a healthy, prosperous, pollution free, and just state where people and the environment are valued over profit. The Louisiana Bucket Brigade believes our state is worth saving. We also know Louisiana is a driver for climate change globally. For 25 years, we've helped residents and community leaders amplify their voices and protect their health, their homes, and their way of life.
