When I started volunteering at ARNO almost 15 years ago, I didn’t realize the absolute chokehold this organization would have on me. I adopted 3 misbehaved but endlessly loved dogs, gained lots of friends in this crazy community, and had so many new experiences that helped build my outlook on life. Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO) is an organization created and dedicated to the rescue and aid of abandoned and homeless animals started out in the wake of Hurricane Katrina including responding to the immediate needs and medical care of those very old, very young, sick, neglected, abused or deprived of love. ARNO promotes the foster, adoption and reunion of pets with caretakers as well as spaying and neutering all companion animals through our no-kill shelter.
