Fundraiser Story
Last summer, I started working at Disability Rights Louisiana as a legal fellow. In my short time at DRLA, I've been able to build a project where I am traveling around the state to visit institutionalized children with disabilities. I'm listening to their stories and working on uncovering and addressing the challenges they are facing, like a lack of education services, or even abuse and neglect.
I'm thrilled to share that starting this fall, I will be taking a permanent staff attorney position, so I can continue to proudly work alongside a team of attorneys and advocates who are fiercely dedicated to protecting the rights of people with disabilities.
Donations to our GiveNOLA Day campaign support the work I'm doing, as well as the work my colleagues are doing to help people with disabilities access healthcare, jobs, education, voting opportunities, decision-making power, and more.
