Access Health Louisiana
Access Health Louisiana (AHL) is the largest network of Federally Qualified Health Centers in the state. Our network of more than 100 providers sees more than 41,000 patients with a total of more than 120,000 encounters per year. Our community health centers are in ten Louisiana parishes including: Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, St. Charles, Washington, Plaquemines, Tangipahoa, Iberville and Rapides.
Our mission is simple: to improve the health of the people we serve.
"I go to The St Tammany Community Health Center in my area where I, as well as my kids, receive our health care needs. A few years ago, one of the lovely office workers asked if I had my mammogram done yet. I told her no and explained to her that I would probably start getting mammograms done when I reached 45 years of age. She went on and explained to me that they had a program for patients to receive free mammograms locally. I was told that they partnered with the Komen Foundation and they provided vouchers for free mammograms. I am so happy I decided to take that offer because that very same year I was diagnosed with Granulomatous Lobular Mastitis. I would have never known if I hadn't got that mammogram done which enabled the Radiologist to pick up on those abnormal findings. Since I got my mammogram done in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month, that subsequent year was very tough on me and my family. Having to have more diagnostic tests done and eventually needing surgery, I can't help but to think if it wasn't for that lovely office worker that my outcome would have been different."

"The Wellness Center operated by Access Health Louisiana has become a huge asset for our students as well as staff here at R.J. Vial Elementary School. The Wellness Center prevents parents from having to take time off from work to take their child to their Primary Care doctor for wellness visits, immunizations or acute illnesses. In return, student attendance is not negatively impacted and students can return to class quickly for teaching and learning. Christine, Hillary and Nyoki genuinely care for the health and well-being of all students and staff at R.J. Vial. The Wellness Center has become an integral part of our daily operations and the services we provide to our school community."
