Access Health Louisiana has been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) based upon standards of patient safety and quality. This means that AHL adheres to evidenced-based standards shown to improve quality, health and safety of its patients, as well as reduced costs. All AHL's community health centers operate in "high-need" areas where access to care is difficult. No patient is ever turned away for treatment at any of our clinics due to their ability to pay. Our company continuously strives for growth into areas of high need by establishing School Based Health Centers in Orleans, Jefferson, Iberville and St. Charles' parishes. We operate a total of four WIC locations within our clinics in Kenner, St. Bernard, Luling and Slidell. All AHL patients have access to free medication assistance programs, such as the Central Louisiana Medication Assistance Program (CENLA), as well as discounted prescription drugs made available through the federal 340B Program. Access Health Louisiana providers include the best of Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Physicians, Pediatricians, Nurse Practitioners, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Podiatrists, Cardiologists, Nephrologists, Dentists, Nurse Care Coordinators specializing in Diabetes management and a Maternal Childcare Coordinator. Our medical team sees patients of all ethnicities which is why all our sites have bilingual staff on hand to ensure better communication between patients and providers.
"I feel very fortunate to have a Wellness Center operated by Access Health Louisiana within walking distance from J.B. Martin Middle School.  I have utilized the Wellness Center on numerous occasions and have never had a bad experience.  Christine is very easy to talk to and listens very attentively to my concerns.  Her assessments have improved my health a great deal.  My son, while attending J.B., also utilized the Wellness Center.  I can honestly say it was extremely helpful having him go there during the day and me not having to leave work.  Christine also makes follow up calls to check on how you are doing.  I feel this is very personable and I am appreciative of this. I believe and would love to see a Wellness Center at every school in St. Charles Parish." -- Rhea Dufrene/Art Teacher at J.B. Martin Middle School, St. Charles Parish

"I go to The St Tammany Community Health Center in my area where I, as well as my kids, receive our health care needs. A few years ago, one of the lovely office workers asked if I had my mammogram done yet. I told her no and explained to her that I would probably start getting mammograms done when I reached 45 years of age. She went on and explained to me that they had a program for patients to receive free mammograms locally. I was told that they partnered with the Komen Foundation and they provided vouchers for free mammograms. I am so happy I decided to take that offer because that very same year I was diagnosed with Granulomatous Lobular Mastitis. I would have never known if I hadn't got that mammogram done which enabled the Radiologist to pick up on those abnormal findings. Since I got my mammogram done in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month, that subsequent year was very tough on me and my family. Having to have more diagnostic tests done and eventually needing surgery, I can't help but to think if it wasn't for that lovely office worker that my outcome would have been different."

"The Wellness Center operated by Access Health Louisiana has become a huge asset for our students as well as staff here at R.J. Vial Elementary School. The Wellness Center prevents parents from having to take time off from work to take their child to their Primary Care doctor for wellness visits, immunizations or acute illnesses. In return, student attendance is not negatively impacted and students can return to class quickly for teaching and learning. Christine, Hillary and Nyoki genuinely care for the health and well-being of all students and staff at R.J. Vial. The Wellness Center has become an integral part of our daily operations and the services we provide to our school community."
