The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

The Southeast Louisiana Council, BSA serves 11 parishes including Assumption, Terrebonne, Laforuche, St. Charles, St. John, St. James, Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, and East St. Tammany. The Council provides scouting programs to more than 7,100 youth participating over than 200 units. Youth in today's society face many challenges as they grow, Scouting provides a solid foundation with an emphasis on positive character growth and association with caring adult role models.
