Loyola University New Orleans Center for Counseling & Education

A nonprofit organization

We turn no one away for lack of funds. Loyola Center for Counseling and Education (LCCE) is committed to providing effective mental health counseling services on a sliding scale to underserved families, couples, groups, and individuals at every stage of life. In tandem with clinical services, LCCE supervises exemplary training for graduate students in Loyola University New Orleans' Department of Counseling. To learn more about LCCE, please contact Dr. Denise Gilstrap (dagilstr@loyno.edu).

Since our opening in early 2019, LCCE has provided sliding scale and pro bono services to over 550 clients in Greater New Orleans. We proudly offer individual counseling, play therapy, relationship counseling, group therapy, and case management.

Due to our model of affordable and quality care, we have a consistent waitlist of clients seeking our services. Each year, we have expanded our capacity to meet the mental health needs of New Orleanians who have trouble accessing affordable care by building our infrastructure and increasing our clinical team. We even recently moved to a larger and brand new clinic space on campus. Even with a team of 6 staff clinicians and 9 counselor-interns, we still maintain a significant waitlist of clients urgently seeking affordable mental healthcare at our clinic.

Our commitment to being a resource for all New Orleanians, not turning anyone away for lack of funds, and upholding excellent clinical standards has not wavered. Your support helps expand the direct client services we offer, including case management, vocational support, and parenting support. Your support will help us promote a healthier New Orleans through our affordable services.
