The Arc of Greater New Orleans

The Arc of Greater New Orleans works to secure for all people with intellectual disabilities opportunities to develop, function, and live to their fullest potential.

The Arc of Greater New Orleans (ArcGNO) seeks to create, through education, advocacy, and support, a greater New Orleans community that includes, accepts, and celebrates people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). ArcGNO currently serves over 700 children and adults in Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, and St. Tammany parishes. We provide a variety of services to individuals of all ages-assisting parents of infants (0-3 years) to find effective therapies and treatments, helping students explore their options for the future after high school, providing job coaching and placement for those seeking employment, planning day activities that enable individuals to be active and integrated into the community, and assisting with a variety of tasks in the participants' homes and communities through our Direct Service Providers.

This year, GiveNOLA Day donations to ArcGNO will be used specifically to keep our transportation fleet working safely and efficiently. Reliable transportation is essential for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to get to work, medical appointments, and community activities. 

Your support helps cover critical vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring our accessible vans remain road‑ready and meet all safety standards. Donations also help offset routine inspections and upkeep that prevent service disruptions and keep riders comfortable and secure. By helping us maintain a dependable fleet, you are ensuring that individuals can continue to access the services and opportunities they rely on every day.
