Children in Need of Care Fund

In the legal system, a child’s attorney is only as effective as the resources behind them. We represent children who have experienced abuse, abandonment, or neglect, but heart alone can't provide the advocacy they deserve, it must be backed by a litigation fund that can sustain the high cost of justice.

We recently represented "L," who entered the system due to their mother’s struggle with addiction. While their mother heroically achieved sobriety, she realized that L’s need for stability didn't mean reunification, but staying with a relative. By creating a unique legal pathway that prioritized both the mother’s health and the child’s wishes, we saw L officially adopted by a family member this year.

Currently, our program has no dedicated litigation fund. To do this work well, we need the resources to go beyond the basics. Your support will help us launch this fund to cover:

• Expert Testimony: $250 provides one hour of vital insight in court.

• Discovery & Due Diligence: Funding for depositions, medical records requests, and specialized consultations. 

• Specialized Training: Ensuring our team remains at the forefront of trauma-informed legal care.

We have a critical hearing on May 5th that requires expert testimony to protect a child’s best interests. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, your tax-deductible gift ensures that when a judge decides a child’s future, that child has the full weight of expert evidence on their side.
