My Grow Dat Fundraiser!

My first year of Grow Dat began during the spring semester of my senior year of high school. The rising anxiety surrounding my future was palpable daily, and up until that point I had only worked volunteer jobs here and there. I knew about Grow Dat from my friends, as they had been working the farm for the past few years. I assumed that Grow Dat wasn't the place for me, simply because I was someone who enjoyed keeping to myself. I admit that I still like to be quiet and sit in the back of classrooms, but what Grow Dat brought out of me was a hidden ability to bond and work with others. Grow Dat provided me a place to explore the balance between taking up space, and making space. I now know that I am able to walk through the world, quiet and peaceful and yet still be heard and still be able to foster community all around me. I am forever indebted.
