Longevity of the Center – Serving the community since 1930, we are trusted across generations. Our history in the city is strong; the needs of our community continue to grow. Now in 3 different locations.

Early Intervention – We reach children early, when support has the greatest impact. The earlier a child receives services for speech, language, literacy, or hearing, the better their long-term outcomes. We also provide services to Head Start centers throughout the GNO area.

Reach – We meet individuals where they are: in schools (private, public, charter, daycares, Head Start centers), at Lambeth House, and across our three centers (Uptown headquarters, Metairie, and Westbank). Our team includes 18 speech-language pathologists and 2 audiologists. Last year, we screened 6,700 children. We accept Medicaid and private insurance and offer a scholarship program for those who cannot afford full costs or lack coverage. This is what our GiveNOLA dollars go to-- our scholarship program.

Hearing Care Across the Lifespan – We fit hearing aids for clients from infancy through adulthood, helping individuals stay connected at every stage of life. Last year placed 236 hearing aid on seniors through grant funding to improve socialization and quality of life.

Speech, Language, and Literacy for Children – We support a wide range of needs, from articulation (e.g., producing sounds like “R”) to language development (understanding and expressing ideas). For example, goals may include expanding sentence length or explaining relationships between items.
