How Disbursement for GiveNOLA Day Works

How does an organization know how they will receive their disbursements? 

An organization can check in their Disbursement Settings area (under the "Settings" section in their dashboard) to confirm this. If they click "Disbursement Settings" and have Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) set up, the section will say "Direct Payouts with EFT" Electronic Funds Transfer is active. If an organization does not have EFT set up, that section will say "Disbursements by Check" and will list their mailing address. It will also have a section where they can set up EFT if they'd like. 

How does an organization change from check to EFT?

1. When logged in, click “Settings” in the bar on the left side of the screen and then “Disbursement Settings.”

2. Complete the information under the “Switch to Direct Payouts with EFT” and click the “Set Up EFT” button.

If an organization would like to receive its next disbursement by EFT, they need to set it up by May 20.

 When will my organization receive our disbursements?

• Around May 10: EFT and check: Early Giving period donations (until April 30) will be distributed.
• Around May 25: Those who have selected EFT payments will receive all donations processed by credit card, PayPal, Venmo, and bank account.
• Around June 10: Those who have selected payment by check will receive all donations that were received for GiveNOLA Day, along with prize and Lagniappe funds, as well as any donations on your distribution report listed as donor-advised funds, or “other.” These are funds that passed through the Greater New Orleans Foundation on their way to Mightycause, as opposed to being given directly on the platform. Those who have selected payment by EFT will receive prize and Lagniappe funds, as well as any donations on your distribution report listed as donor-advised funds, or “other.” These are funds that passed through the Greater New Orleans Foundation on their way to Mightycause, as opposed to being given directly on the platform.

If I select payment by check, where will my organization's check be mailed?

Checks are mailed to the address on file with the IRS.

To see what address that is: 

• When logged in, click “Settings” in the bar on the left side of the screen. Then select “Organization Info” and scroll down to “Legal Mailing Address.” That area of the website includes information on how to update that address, if necessary.

• For fiscally sponsored organizations, the money is sent where the fiscal sponsor has specified in the MOU.
